Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra Annual Day, The Moment of pride
Every
year in January the school resonates with the sound of music, hectic
activity, dance sessions and drama practice as the students and
staff prepare for the most awaited event of the year – Mount
Carmel Shiksha Kendra Annual Day.
The
students perform with immense pride and amazing ease, presenting a
programme filled with in-house choreographed dance sequences,
melodious songs and drama. The
function is graced each year by dignitaries, well wishers and proud
parents of the children who sacrifice their day’s earnings to
watch their children perform.
Drama
– an important tradition :
Drama
has become an integral part of Mount Carmel Shiksha Kendra and has
helped to transform the personality of many students.
Each year a play is carefully selected keeping in mind its social relevance in the lives of these children and their parents. The children have put up well acclaimed, sensitive performances in social reform dramas like ‘Akhir Kyon’ ‘Kadva Sach’ and ‘Kahani Ek Ghar Ki’ which tackle issues on gender bias, literacy and alcoholism.
